Arab Tourism Day Celebrations Comes to an End with “Antar & Abla” broadcasting tonight at 8:00 pm

 

Curtain falls on Bahrain’s Authority for Culture and Antiquities’ program of festivities dedicated to celebrate Arab Tourism Day, on 3 March 2021 as the Lebanese world famous opera music show, namely “ Antar & Abla” which will be broadcasted ,   at 8:00 pm via  BACA’s You Tube channel @CultureBah

Held in commemoration of Arab Tourism Day, one of the most important theatrical productions of the world “Antar & Abla” will perform at the Bahrain National Theatre. Since its premiere in July 2016 in Beirut, this historical opera produced by Opera Lebanon received widespread popularity and acclaim from the audience as a showcase of pre-Islamic literature and poetry, Arab heritage, and timeless stories which address important social and human issues and concepts such as discrimination, racism, honor, and heroism through unforgettable characters in exceptional circumstances. The story weaves a tale of bravery, slavery, freedom, loyalty and love -- and co-stars his beloved Abla, daughter of a tribal sheikh and object of Antara's undying affection.

 The production is considered a watershed moment in the region’s opera scene as it masterfully combined original symphonic music with the poetic aesthetics of the Arabic language and techniques used specifically in singing opera in Arabic, all of which create a complete and impressive artistic experience. Indeed, the unique beauty musical composition of Antar & Abla opera is singular in the Arab region cultural scene.

With Antar & Abla opera rebroadcasting, Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities’ program  of festive events to celebrate Arab Tourism Day will come to an end, after a whole week of online   selection of international music and art concerts and shows for a whole week. Indeed, the Arab Tourism Day celebration was initiated in 2013 when Manama was nominated the Capital of Arab Tourism to commemorate the anniversary of the birth of the most famous Arab traveler, Ibn Battuta. Bahrain National Theater and the Cultural Hall had previously hosted these festive shows as part of the Spring of Culture festival in recent years.

Bahrain Culture Authority’s festive events to celebrate Arab Tourism Day also included a gorgeous music magnificent concert by Egyptian artist Ahmed Effat, which was hosted by the Cultural Hall previously, commemorating the memory of Egyptian legend artist Abdulhalim Hafedh. In addition, there was the marvelous music performance titled “Kolama Konna bi Qorbek (Whenever we are close to you) by maestro Khalid Al-Shaikh, accompanied by Bahrain Music Band.

In addition, Bahrain Culture Authority’s You Tube channel re-broadcasted the singular Lebanese artist Rima Khcheich concert in a moving tribute to the legendary Lebanese singer Sabah, while, Egyptian artist, Mohammed Mohsen, revived sweet music memories of the most beloved hits from her Egyptian repertoire by some of the greatest composers. Bahrain Culture Authority continued its online   festive events celebrating Arab Tourism Day, scheduling also renowned Moroccan artist Karima Skalli concert, Sufi dervishes, Arab poetry with melodies, offering a soothing blend of classical tunes and modern infusions that highlight the exquisite melodies and unrivaled eloquence of the great Arab poets, accompanied by Bahrain Music Band led by Maestro Khalifa Ziman.
