H.E Shaikha Mai Receives the Italian Ambassador

H.E Shaikha Mai bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities President, received, on 3 October 2021, Her Excellency the Italian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mrs. Paula Amadi. The meeting was also attended by H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, the Director-General of Culture and Arts at BACA and Ms. Francesca Campagna, the globally renowned artistic manager and consultant to cultural institutions, General Director of the Center for Contemporary Opera. Promoting and enhancing cultural cooperation between both countries and other related themes were discussed during this meeting. 

 

H.E Shaikha Mai bin Mohammed Al Khalifa,  welcomed Her Excellency, the  Italian Ambassador, stressing the importance of the deeply-rooted mutual and friendly relations between both countries, and expressed her hope to implement and come up with challenging  joint cultural  projects in the near future, which would  enhance Italy’s artistic presence in Bahrain’s cultural seasons.

  

The meeting also discussed a number of issues of common interest, in addition to ways to support the exchange of cultural visits, and expertise in theatrical production, given Ms. Campagna’s ability to capture and engage with new audiences offering very welcome and promising prospects for the future of opera worldwide. Indeed, the Bahrain National Museum will soon host an exhibition that reflects the richness of Italian jewelry.

 

The Italian ambassador expressed her happiness and appreciation for holding this meeting and praised the subjects and topics discussed, particularly ways to develop the cultural ties between the two countries. Her Excellency Mrs. Paula Amadi also lauded BACA’s openness to various civilizations and cultures, expressing her constant readiness to cooperate with BACA to contribute to the thriving effervescent cultural scene  in Bahrain.
