The series of events scheduled by the new creative cultural initiative, “Muharraq Nights" festival kicked off, on 1 December, 2022, from the Pearling Path visitor center. The so-awaited endeavor started in the presence of H.E Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, and a number of high-ranking diplomatic figures, in addition to the presence of a large number of interested parties and lovers of culture in Bahrain and media figures.
The opening festival events started at Ammarat Al Doy, near the main Visitor Centre of the Pearling Path, moving, afterwards, to Ammart Fakhro 1 and Aammarat Fakhro 2 Buildings, passing through Al-Qaisariya Market. During this inaugural ceremony, Memory of the Place, Bin Matar Building, which is branched from the Sheikh Ibrahim Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center, hosted an exhibition opening “At the Edge" in the memory of the place - the Bin Matar Building,
Indeed, Muharraq night festival is a few days festival that will celebrate the city of Muharraq and its culture with its true essence. Created by a community of artists, the exhibition explores the significance of Bahrain's coastline and its changes and evolution over time, through photography, mixed media and installation. The conclusion was in the Mohammed bin Faris Hall, which is branched from the Sheikh Ebrahim Center, where the Mohammed bin Faris Band presented an artistic evening that recalled the most beautiful songs of the art of sound and authentic Bahraini melodies.
Worth to mention that the festival is organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, as part of the Pearling Path project, and the Shaikh Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture & Research. Moreover, events are held in many locations around the city during the weekend of the first two weeks of this month (1-3 December and 8-10). December) from 5 pm to 9 p.m. The festival features activities ranging from music, exhibitions, workshops, markets and much more in various places in Muharraq. Indeed, starting from Siyadi Majlis in the North to the Bu Maher Fort in the far south, and luring a wide range of audiences of all ages through activities distributed in eight areas: arts, design, Crafts, food, music, cinema, workshops and activities, and tours, this festival portrays the art of design, fashion, food, and music of Muharraq and its neighborhood.

The "Muharraq Nights" festival sheds light on the site of the Pearling Path, the second site of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and the cultural and social practices and intangible heritage associated with it, which embodies the legacy of the pearling era in Bahrain. The site includes pristine coastline, 3 pearl fisheries, 16 historic buildings and public squares, all extending for 3.5 kilometers within the historic city of Muharraq.
