Preparations are underway by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, as part of the Pearling Path project, and together with the Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research, to launch the new delightful exciting cultural amazing series of events, “Muharraq Nights” Festival. At the heart of the festivities, Muharraq city will host a bevy of enticing and original art events, from, workshops and exhibitions to dance to theatre to music and street art, filling your first Two Month of December 2022 weekends with exciting joys.
Indeed, this new cultural festival endeavor, which is one of the latest cultural initiatives taken in the Kingdom of Bahrain, will take place in various parts of the historical city of Muharraq. Taking place from Siyadi Majlis in the north to Qal'at Bu Mahir at the southern tip of the island, the celebration will feature design, fashion, food, and music across the historic neighborhoods of the city. There will be a number of venues where the festival will take place in Muharraq, including the Shaikh Ebrahim Centre, Archaeologies of Green Pavilion, Amarat Fakhro, Suq Al Qaysariyyah, and Bu Mahir Seashore. The sweet melodic festive atmosphere will be echoed throughout the city, inviting audiences of all ages, through eight types of activities that celebrate many cultural aspects, and these types are arts, design, crafts, food, music, cinema, workshops and tours.
Undoubtedly, the creative “Muharraq Nights” festival sheds light on the site of the Pearling Path, which is registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the cultural and social traditions and activities. With all the elements of the Intangible Heritage accompanying the events, the visitors and lovers will explore and enjoy the historical heritage legacy of the pearling era in Bahrain through an original coastline, three pearl fisheries, 16 historical buildings and public squares, all of them along 3.5 km within the historic city of Muharraq.
