H.E Shaikha Mai Receives His Excellency Ambassador of Denmark

H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, the President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, received, on 13 February 2022, in her office at the Bahrain National Museum the Danish ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, residing in Riyadh, His Excellency Ole Emil Moesby. They discussed ways to enhance cultural relations between Bahrain and Denmark.

During the meeting, H.E Shaikha Mai highlighted the most important urban and cultural projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain, such as Pearling Path major project, scheduled to be finalized next few months, Spring of Culture Festival, as well as other events, activities and cultural assets. H.E also noted and lauded the contribution of Danish architects to the cultural infrastructure in the Kingdom, initiated with Danish archaeological excavations works and discoveries of Dilmun civilization, in the beginning of the last century, the outstanding building of the Bahrain National Museum, designed by Cowicon- sult and the Danish architects Rasmussen, Krohn and Hartvig, which opened in 1988, the Qal'at al-Bahrain Site Museum designed by a team of architects, Wohlert Arkitekter (Copenhagen, Denmark), 2008, Al-Khamis Mosque in 2017. H.E hoped for increased cultural cooperation relations with Denmark.

His Excellency Ole Emil Moesby, the Danish ambassador, for his part praised the amazing Bahraini cultural achievements and action work, praising the efforts of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities in preserving Bahrain’s cultural landmarks. He visited the Arts Center, where he was briefed on the joint art exhibition “Sharif & Sharif”, which displays the works of the artist Abdel Rahim Sharif and his son Hisham Sharif.
