The 14th edition of the Bahrain Summer Festival was launched, on 11 July 2022, at the Bahrain National Museum. The opening ceremony was attended H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, and the presence of a high-ranking diplomat and representatives of the Heritage Authority at the Saudi Ministry of Culture, in addition to a number of people interested in cultural affairs in Bahrain and the media.

Speaking for the occasion, H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa stressed the importance of the Bahrain Summer Festival’s important rendez-vous within the package of sustainable cultural seasons offered by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities. H.E said: “In a year dedicated to celebrate the golden achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain, we continue to present our activities despite the challenges, and we insist on spreading happiness and joy through an annual festival that forms an umbrella that brings together various parties from Bahrain and abroad on one goal, which is culture.”

In addition, H.E has pointed out that t the success of the Bahrain Summer Festival this year is due to the great and important contribution of many parties from the public and private sectors and friendly embassies. H.E extended her special the Saudi Heritage Commission of the Saudi Ministry of Culture, which will be present throughout the festival, and all the contributors and supporters of the festival this year, offering many activities within its program, which It continues until the end of July.

The opening program of the festival moved to the Arts Center, where the attendees were briefed on its workshops and activities in the presence of many festival-goers, including children and families that will continue until the end of this month. In conclusion, the audience was on a date with the first concerts of the cultural hall within the Bahrain Summer Festival, which was performed by the creative Bahraini trio, Mohammed Al-Najjar, Haya Al-Hamad and Layan Al-Hamad, where famous international musical pieces were presented on the piano.

On 12 July 2022, the Brainiac Remixed Theater from the United Kingdom started and it will be held for three consecutive days, July 12, 13 and 14 in the Cultural Hall at 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Free admission.

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities would like to express its thanks and gratitude to the participants in the Bahrain Summer Festival 2022, starting with the Ministry of Interior, and Watani magazine, as well as the National Human Rights Institution, Isa Cultural Centre, the Saudi Ministry of Culture ( Heritage Commission). BACA extends its thanks also to all the embassies that contributed to enriching the festival program, namely the embassy of the United States of America embassy, the Indonesian embassy, the Korean Republic embassy, the State of Palestine embassy, the United Arab Emirates embassy, Republic of India embassy, Kingdom of Thailand embassy, and the Pakistani embassy. The list of participants include Women’s Training Center for National Industries, Ishara Foundation and Nature Studio Learning Space. The Culture Authority also thanks the festival’s sponsors: Maestro Musical Equipment and AA Car Rental, in addition to all those who contributed to the success of this year’s Bahrain Summer Festival, including the authority’s cadres and employees, and the artists and creators of workshops and activities.

Moreover, The Saudi Heritage Commission will present a number of workshops at the Arts Center that seek to introduce the famous handicrafts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In addition to other activities that seek to prepare a generation that is aware of the importance of antiquities, protects and celebrates them.

The Bahrain Summer Festival will continue until July 31, 2022, daily from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Bahrain Summer Program includes an intensive program of cultural activity that includes a series of workshops and exciting activities ranging from performances to live artistic and entertainment activities on the stage of the cultural hall, in addition to a variety of mobile restaurants, the Nakhool Star competition and many more, so that visitors of all ages have an enjoyable time.
