H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), received the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom, H.E Dr. Anwar Habiballah, on 7 June 2022, to discuss their joint efforts in strengthening cultural cooperation between the two countries. The meeting reflects the strong historical cooperation between Bahrain Culture Authority and its Chinese cultural institutions counterparts.

H.E Shaikha Mai expressed her happiness to welcome the Chinese Ambassador, and praised the historical Bahraini-Chinese relations and the level of cooperation in many levels and fields, given Bahrain’s strategic location at the cross-roads of many world’ civilizations and cultures from the dawn of history, which has enhanced its position with regard to Silk Road project. In addition, H.E said that the great creative achievements could only be carried through the concerted efforts of various parties, involving both public and private sectors. H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa stressed the importance of human relations and bonds between Bahrain and China, praising the continuous Chinese cultural presence in the seasons, events and programs it organizes.

The Chinese Ambassador H.E Dr. Anwar Habib Allah, for his part, thanked H.E Shaikha Mai for her relentless efforts to enrich the cultural scene Bahrain and enhance the cultural cooperation with China, lauding the fervent vivid cultural life and movement in Bahrain, which reflects the genuine identity of the country. In addition, H.E Dr. Anwar Habiballah voiced the constant support and readiness of his country to contribute to the richness of the Bahraini cultural scene through many future projects, in cooperation between the Chinese Embassy and Bahrain Culture Authority.
