The Spring of Culture Festival 2022 Scheduled Events in, Celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Bahraini-Pakistani Diplomatic Relations
The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, in cooperation with the Pakistani Embassy, is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, through two activities on the stage of the cultural hall, as part of the program of the 16Th Spring of Culture Festival 2022.
Indeed, on 4 & 5 March 2022, the Cultural Hall hosted the "Night of Qawwali", a musical evening that revisits and revives a form of Sufi music, presented by Hamza Akram Qawwal and his brothers, where they played many tunes that mixed literature, music and high and elaborate performance evoking a form of Sufi music with Qawwali melodies that blend literature and music, as a juxtaposition of lyric with literature and performance, highlighting the beginnings of Qawwali with the recitation of poems by great poets such as Amir Khusraw, throughout the following eras, with the voices of Hamza Akram Qawwal and his brothers. The evening included the recitation of poems by great poets such as Amir Khusraw, who dates back to the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, passing through poems by poets from later ages.
On Sunday, March 6, the Cultural Hall will host an evening of Urdu poetry entitled “Al-Mashaara” at 8:00 pm. The event is organized by the Pakistan Association featuring a wonderful night of emotions accompanied by Urdu poetry, joined by a number of distinguished poets from Pakistan and the Gulf countries, in addition to the participation of poets from the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event will also launch a poetry book in Urdu entitled “The World of Emkan” by poet Ahmed Adil.
Worth to mention that the Spring of Culture Festival is organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Shaikh Ibrahim Center for Culture and Research and Al Dana Amphitheatre, in cooperation with Al Riwaq Art Space and Al Bareh Art Gallery for Fine Arts. It presents the public with a program that includes a wide range of artistic and musical activities, lectures, exhibitions and international performances that suit different tastes and ages and build bridges of cultural and human communication between the Kingdom and the world.
