Held in Cooperation with the Egyptian Embassy, “Raya and Sakina” Dance Show at the Cultural Hall
Organized in collaboration with the Egyptian Embassy, as part of the 16th edition of the Spring of Culture Festival, the Cultural Hall will host the contemporary show in Egypt and the Arab world “Raya and Sakina” on Thursday, 24 March 24, and on Friday, 25 March at 8:00:00 pm.
This contemporary performance of dance and theatre showcases two popular figures across Egypt and the Arab world. Raya and Sakina are two personalities that have roused contradictory opinions as some consider them thugs whereas others consider them heroines in the face of colonialism. This production highlights another perspective of these characters through psychological analysis of the two personalities as well as research on the economic and cultural conditions of the time, reflecting the intertwining interferences and struggles of the human psyche in the form of modern dance.
It is noteworthy that the Spring of Culture Festival will run until the end of this month.
