European Film Nights to Start at Bahrain National Museum, The audience strikes a rendez-vous with short movies dealing with important topics

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, in cooperation with the Delegation of the European Union, the French Embassy, is organising the “European Film Nights” in Bahrain between the 26 and 29 of May. Movies will be screened at Bahrain National Museum at 7:00 pm. This would be the first such European film event organised in the Kingdom of Bahrain, aiming at facilitating cultural exchange and promoting European cinema.

For the first three nights, films from France, Germany/ Greece and Italy/Slovenia will be screened. The last night will be dedicated to six short films, both European and international, with a special focus on the climate crisis. The movies are “GEO-Engineering” by Yannick Stark (2020), “Hungry Seagull” by Leon Wang (2019), “Kokota: the Islet of Hope” by Craig Norris (2016), “OLMO” by Silvio Soldini (2019), “ Tant de Forêts” by Burku Sankur and Geoffrey Godet (2014), “ THERMOSTAT 6” by Maya Av-Ron, Mylène Cominotti, Marion Coudert, Sixtine Dano (2018). A discussion on the short films, moderated by the Bahrain Cinema Club, will follow.

On 27 May 2002, a great movie will be screened, namely “SISTERS APART” (IM FEUER) by Daphne Charizani (Germany, Greece), while on 28 May, there will be another movie, “San Remo by Miroslav Mandic (Slovenja/Italy). The last film “PERFUMES” (LES PARFUMS) by Gregory Magne (2019) (France), will be screened on 29 May 2022.
