H.E the President of the Republic of Maldives Visits a Number of Cultural Sites in Bahrain during his official visit to the Kingdom

H.E the President Ibrahim Mohamed Saleh, President of the Republic of Maldives, visited a number of cultural sites located between the Bahrain National Museum, the Bahrain National Theater and Bab Al Bahrain, on Friday, October 7, 2022, on the sidelines of his official visit to the Kingdom. His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain accompanied the Maldivian President during his visits to the amazing Bahraini cultural venues.

H.E the President of the Republic of Maldives was received by the President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, H.E Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and a number of senior officials of BACA.

The visit to the museum included a tour of the most important halls that contain artifacts that tell the story of Bahrain's history for more than 4,000 years, from the time of the Dilmun civilization until today.

In addition, H.E also toured the Dilmun Burial Hall dedicated to the archaeological site of the Dilmun Hills inscribed on the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and visited the temporary exhibition hall, which is currently hosting the exhibition "Typologies of Air" by Scottish artist Shauna Illingworth.

During his tour of the museum, the President of the Republic of Maldives was briefed on the role played by the Bahrain National Museum in building bridges of communication between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the countries of the world and introducing its visitors to the culture and heritage of Bahrain, in addition to its activities that it presents to the public in terms of workshops, lectures and seminars.

At the Bahrain National Theatre, the H.E the President of the Republic of Maldives was briefed about the major cultural spotlights that the theater has achieved on the cultural level, and its role in supporting international artistic and performance teams, which contributed to strengthening the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a regional and global cultural and civilizational center. On the other hand, he toured the Bab Al Bahrain area, exploring the importance of the place in the history of the city of Manama and its role in strengthening its position in the region as a tributary of cultural, economic and social prosperity.
