Renowned Bahraini artist Ahmed Al Jumairi, accompanied by the Bahrain Music Ensemble, conducted by Maestro Ziad Zeman, transcended the boundaries of creative music all the way to the top at the Arab Music Festival in its 31st session. In a memorable music concert, held on 21 October 2022, Al-Jumairi took the audience into a time travel sweet melodies and good old times most beautiful authentic Bahraini rhythms on the stage of the Egyptian Opera House in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. The ceremony was held in cooperation between the Opera House and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities.

The activities of the 31st session of the Arab Music Festival kicked off on 20 October, at the Fountain Theater in the Egyptian Opera House, under the patronage of Dr. Nevin Al Kilani, Minister of Culture, and Dr. Magdy Saber, President of the Opera House, and in the presence of artist Jihan Morsi, Director of the Festival and Conference. The much –awaited festival features a rich program that included musical compositions and creative pieces performed by great artists, famous scenes and dance ballet clips played by the Cairo Opera Ballet. The opening ceremony also included the honoring of the Bahraini artist, Ahmed Al-Jumairi by the Egyptian Minister of Culture, together with 16 personalities who contributed to enriching artistic life in Egypt and the Arab world by awarding them the festival’s Oscar and certificates of appreciation. The honoring of the artist Al Jumairi came in appreciation of his contributions to the advancement of the Arab and Bahraini art and music scene, in addition to his permanent work to deepen and strengthen Arab cultural relations through art and creativity.

Bahraini artist Ahmed Al Jumairi’s concert, accompanied by the Bahrain Music Ensemble performed stunning music pieces, Oud performances and playing authentic Bahraini compositions, such as “Anu Al- Bal”, “Kuku”, “ Taw-al Nahar “, “ Yal-Khalq law tadroon” and others.

The 31st Arab Music Festival will continue until November 3, and will include 39 concerts with the participation of 99 artists from nine Arab countries: Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. On the sidelines of the festival, the Arab Music Conference will be held, which this year will discuss a number of themes under the slogan “Music theater is a Milestone in the history of Arab Music,” with the participation of researchers from Egypt and the Arab world. Indeed, given that theatre is the father of all arts that combines different fields of arts, like drama, poetry, acting, décor, music and singing, in one art form, the festival organizers have called on researchers to participate in the five topics of the festival that all revolves of musical theatre in Arab music heritage.
