His Excellency Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, met with the Minister of Culture and Youth of the United Arab Emirates, Mrs. Noura Al Kaabi, on the sidelines of the 5th session of the Cultural Summit, which was held in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, from 23-25 October.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed the latest developments in the regional cultural scene, especially after the cultural summit. This major cultural event explored the future of the culture sector and discussed creative cultural solutions to the most pressing global issues affecting on the world today. The summit also examined how the cultural and creative industries sector was forced to innovate in order to be able to face the great turmoil caused by the pandemic and how they can continue their mission in transforming societies and economies towards adopting a culture of innovation, knowledge production and openness to the world. It also shed light the use of digital media and the characteristics of public places and other matters related to cultural mobility.
In addition, the meeting also touched on strengthening bilateral cultural relations between the two brotherly countries and confirmed both parties’ keenness to continue to enhance ties and strengthen channels of discourse. Enriching the cultural movement through the exchange of experiences and cooperation in all artistic and cultural fields to achieve more joint projects and an effective presence of the cultural scene in various activities in the two countries were also discussed during the encounter.
