The Qal'at al-Bahrain Site Museum will host a lecture entitled "The Role of Byzantine Currencies in the Development of Arab-Islamic Currencies" presented by Mr. Mohammed Hakim Al-Aradi. The lecture will be delivered in Arabic at 7 pm.
The lecture deals with three main phases and axes related to the role of Byzantine currencies in the development of Arab-Islamic currencies. The first axis will focus on the general view of the Arabs' relationship with the Byzantines before, during and after the advent of Islam, while the second axis sheds light on the Byzantine currencies that were circulated in the Arab countries. Indeed, the third part of the lecture will also shed light on the Islamic monetary reform measures phase.
It is worth noting that this lecture is part of a series of cultural lectures organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities in various locations with the aim of promoting cultural mobility and attracting those interested in culture, heritage, literature and other fields.
