As Part of the 17th Edition of Spring of Culture, Bahrain Culture Authority, With the Support and Sponsorship Gulf Petrochemicals, (GPIC) Organizes Antiquities’ Walkathon along 8 Kilometers trip between Qala’at al Bahrain and Barbar Temple

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities has organized, on Saturday, February 25, 2023, a walk tour event, entitled "Antiquities’ Walkathon", with the support of the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC). The event is part of the 17th edition of Spring of Culture Festival.

Indeed, more than 200 persons, Bahrainis and residents, took part in this Walkathon, a tour that went through an 8 km distance and stopped at 7 archaeological sites in the Kingdom of Bahrain, starting from the Qal’at al-Bahrain site, which is registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List, to Burials of Al-Shakhura, and finally at the Barbar Temple.

Noticeably, the aims to attract and introduce the public in the Kingdom to the cultural and archaeological heritage in Bahrain, which goes back to thousands of years from the Dilmun civilization to the modern era, as well as spreading awareness about the importance of preserving these sites and their role in promoting Bahrain's historical and cultural status.
