The 17th Edition of Spring of Culture Festival Presents “The Golden Ratio”, A solo exhibition by artist Mayasa Al-Sowaidi at the Art Center
Under the gracious patronage of His Excellency Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the National Council for the Arts, and within the program of the 17th Spring of Culture Festival, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities’ Art Center will host a solo exhibition by the artist, Dr. Mayasa Al Sowaidi, entitled “The Golden Ratio”. The exhibition is curated and supervised by French Modern Art expert, Ms. Corinne Timsit. The exhibition will open its doors on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 7:00 pm.
Indeed, the “Golden Ratio” exhibition sheds light on the relationship between arts and mathematics, two worlds that seem contradictory at first glance. However, upon in-depth research, a great similarity can be found between these two worlds, as realizing beauty in mathematics lies in examining the patterns formed by numbers.
worth to mention that Dr. Mayasa Al-Sowaidi is an artist, academic, and member of the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer at the University of Bahrain. She holds a Ph.D. from Grenoble University for Management in France in 2019, and holds a BA in Mathematics from the University of Bahrain. In addition, Al-Sowaidi participated in many local, regional and international exhibitions and workshops and won many art awards. With the artist's background in mathematics, balance and order are important components of her artistic practice.
