H.E Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, received Ms. Reem Al-Sultan, CEO of the Misk Art Institute in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at Qala’at al Bahrain Fort Site Museum.
Indeed, the meeting is part of a tour conducted by Ms. Reem Al-Sultan in several locations in order to learn about the cultural experience in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Moreover, H.E Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa stressed the importance of building and strengthening partnerships between cultural institutions in the GCC countries, which will result in projects that advance the regional cultural movement. In addition. H.E praised the role of the Misk Institute and its participation in strengthening the leading cultural role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Arab and international cultural arenas.
In addition, the meeting discussed a number of issues of common interest and ways to strengthen relations between Bahrain Culture Authority and the Misk Institute in order to achieve advanced levels of cultural exchange between the peoples of the two brotherly countries. The importance of cooperation to implement future projects that advance the artistic movement in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia was also emphasized.
Ms. Reem Al-Sultan’s tour also included a visit to the Bahrain National Museum, a number of civil and private cultural institutions in Bahrain, and art studios of great Bahraini artists.
Worth to mention that that the Misk Art Institute, a nonprofit cultural organization dedicated to creating a platform for local artists, was established in 2017, as a supportive platform for artists and the arts. It objectives, among others, is to encourage local young artistic talents in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to promote Saudi arts and culture and to enable global cultural exchange and dialogue.
