The Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra presented an exceptional concert on the stage of the Bahrain National Theatre, on 17 March 2023. Led by Maestro Dr. Mubarak Najm, the orchestra performed a wonderful musical performance that took the audience into a sweet music journey evoking the most beautiful melodies and passages from the East and Wes. In addition, the participation of emerging Bahraini and Arab artists: Mustafa Al-Arabi, Nada Hassan, Faisal Al-Ansari, Ibrahim Al-Najim and Abdul-Rahman Awadh, added to the concert's splendor and aura. This concert was part of the 17th edition of Spring of Culture Festival, which will continue until the end of March.
Indeed, the concert ceremony kicked off with the masterpiece No: 68 'Grande Marche Chromatique' (Entrance of the Gladiators) was composed by Czech composer Julius Fučík, a piece that was supposed to demonstrate the ability of Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra in simulating the wonderful performance of the best and most complex classical pieces modern brass instruments. Afterwards, the orchestra played Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and Strauss' Work No. 314, entitled "The Blue Danube”. Then, artist Mustafa El Araby, performed an oboe solo, while the soprano singer, Nada Hassan, performed a piece from the opera Carmen. Also known as, the Cornetto song, ‘O sole mio’ is one of the most beloved Neapolitan songs of the last 100 years, the tenor layer, the Bahraini artist Faisal Al-Ansari performed it majestically, while the Bahraini star Ibrahim Al-Najem followed him with a wonderful performance of the song "How Many Years and Months" by Muhammad Ali Abdullah. As for the Bahraini artist, Abdul Rahman Awadh, he sang the song “Juruh Qalbi” (How often my heart was broken) by the distinguished Bahraini artist, Khaled Al-Shaikh.
Noteworthy that the Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra was established on 26 March 2022, by Bahraini musician Dr. Mubarak Najem, General Director of the Bahrain Police Band and founder of the Bahrain Music Institute. The orchestra currently includes more than 100 musicians and choirs. Indeed, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, have supported this project, which shapes cultural identity, and ensuring His Royal Highness' interest in presenting the Kingdom as a prominent destination that attracts all forms of cultural creativity.
