In a lecture hosted by Qala’at Al- Bahrain Fort Site Museum, on 12 March 2023, Mr. Mustafa Ibrahim Salman, a member of the Bahraini Archaeological Team, confirmed that the recent archaeological discoveries made at the Buri Burial Mounds site, North of Hamad Town, gave a key indication of the importance of this site for the Dilmun civilization in its Early and Middle and Later stages. In addition, Mr. Salman also shed light on important details with regard to the site and the results of the archaeological excavations conducted by the Bahraini team, as well as the relationship between these discoveries and the Dilmun civilization that flourished in the Kingdom of Bahrain more than 4,000 years ago.

Moreover, Mr. Mustapha Salman said that the Buri Burial Mounds site features about 90 burial mounds of different sizes, pointing out that the Bahraini archaeological team contributed to the discovery of major tombs in which archaeological holdings such as pots, pottery jars, seals and other pieces that refer to funerary rituals in the Dilmun civilization were found. In addition, Mr. Salman referred to the discovery of a large tomb that includes five burial chambers built on a rocky ground to facilitate repeated burials.

Worth to mention that the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities is organizing a series of educational lectures hosted by the archaeological and heritage sites in the Kingdom, with the aim of spreading knowledge about various aspects of the history and civilization of Bahrain.

The Bahrain Culture Authority’s lecture series’ schedule will continue during March. On Thursday, 16 Marc 2023, the Bahrain National Museum’s Lecture Hall will host a lecture entitled “Jacques Cartier’s Journey to Bahrain in 1911” presented by Dr. Abdullah Al-Sulaiti at 7:00 pm. On Sunday, March 19, the Bahrain National Museum will host a lecture by Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director of the Bahrain Studies Center, entitled "The Dutch Presence in the Continent of Asia and the Arabian Gulf in the 17th and 18th Centuries " at 7:00 pm.
