“Features of Bahrain Civilization” Exhibition, Held this time in Muharraq’s Suq Al-Baraha, continues to attract visitors to discover the deeply—rooted ancient heritage of the Kingdom of Bahrain

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities has inaugurated “Features of Bahrain Civilization” exhibition at its new location, held this time in Muharraq’s Souq Al-Baraha, in the presence of Dr. Salman Al-Mahari, Director of Museums and Antiquities at the Authority, and Mr. Ibrahim Al-Qaldari, Director-General of Al-Baraha Souq.

Visitors can tour around through the various eras, historical monuments, and wonderful archaeological sites, which tell something of the story of Bahrain. This exhibition displays several historic documents, texts and lighting illumination through short video clips that tell useful profiles about a number of archaeological sites in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Indeed, the exhibition will continue in the market until May 2023, providing its visitors with a set of pictures and detailed texts about a number of the Kingdom of Bahrain's historical and heritage sites. Noteworthy that among the most important sites presented by the exhibition to the public are those registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List, namely: Qala’at al Bahrain Fort site, the site of the Pearling Path and the site of the Dilmun Burial Mounds. In addition to the images and integrated text, the exhibition is designed interactively, as next to the image of each site there is a quick response (QR) code, which the visitor can scan using his smartphone in order to view the introductory videos.

Henceforth, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities stresses the importance of its strategy and keenness to highlight the authentic historical heritage of Bahrain. Therefore, this exhibition comes as part of its efforts to introduce the largest possible segment of the public, citizens, residents and visitors, to the heritage and civilization of Bahrain, by transferring cultural activity to public places and spaces around the Kingdom, noting that the exhibition provides adequate simplified information about historical sites, but in-depth at the same time.

Worth to mention that the Seef Mall in Manama had previously hosted the first opening of the "Features of Bahrain Civilization" exhibition, in cooperation with the Gulf University, as part of the activities of the 17th edition the Spring of Culture Festival this year.
