The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities launched the National Heritage Majlis at the Pearling Path Visitor Center in Muharraq, in the presence of Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director of the Authority's National Heritage Directorate, and a number of those interested and researchers in heritage affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Indeed, the National Heritage Directorate organizes this Ramadan Majlis with the aim of involving the local community in issues related to heritage and antiquities. The Majlis hosts its visitors every Tuesday evening of the blessed month of Ramadan after Taraweeh prayers to discuss various topics and exchange experiences and recommendations in everything related to the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

H.E Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director of the National Heritage, said that the National Heritage Majlis is in line with the goals and aspirations of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities. It aims to enhance channels of communication with those interested and researchers in the field of heritage from the local community, hoping that the Council will turn into a space where everyone can present their opinions and his proposals on how to enhance the preservation and safeguard of the heritage of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Moreover, in its first gathering night session, the Majlis highlighted ad discussed a range of topics related to the projects of the Culture Authority in the city of Muharraq aimed at upgrading the cultural infrastructure of the city and enhancing its presence as a civilized and cultural center. The Majlis also discussed the means by which local community can participate in decision-making for the good of the cultural movement and cultural development projects.
