The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy to Bahrain, will take the audience into a memorable music evening, on 4 October, at 8:00 pm 2023 at the Cultural Hall, heralding, thus, the first events to be held there as part of the 32nd Bahrain international Music Festival. Indeed, the famous concert “A tribute to Ennio Morricone: Oscar Film Scores” by Il Quintetto will bring back sweet visual and acoustic memories and indulge beautiful melodies. Free admission
Indeed, by paying tribute to the renowned Italian musician Ennio Morricone, considered one of the most important music composers of the 20th century, the Cultural Hall hosts the quintet that had the honour of working with “Il Maestro” for over 20 years.
Il Quintetto will perform some of the most famous musical compositions created for U.S. Western movies, such as “Once Upon a Time in the West”, “A Fistul of Dollars”, “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” as well as the music from the films “The Mission” and “Cinema Paradiso”.
In addition, Ennio Morricone was an Italian musician with numerous works, particularly in the field of film scoring, where he composed and arranged for over 500 films and television productions, surpassing any other composer. Morricone won the Academy Award for Best Original Score in 2016, along with the film “The hateful Eight”. He received the Academy Honorary in 2007, won 3 Golden Globes Awards, along with 4 Gammy Awards and 6 BAFTA Awards. His albums have sold more than 70 million copies worldwide.
Worth to mention that the 32nd Bahrain International Music Festival events started on 1 October will continue until the October 20th, featuring amazing music evenings and concerts from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Gulf states, the Arab world and the whole world. These international music sweet rhythmic evenings will be held at various locations in the Kingdom of Bahrain., such as the Cultural Hall, Qala’at al Bahrain Site Museum and others, welcoming music lovers wherever they might be.
