First Musical Evening of the 19th Spring of Culture Festival: Renowned Bahraini Artist Ebrahim Habib Graces the Stage at the Bahrain National Theatre

From the stage of the Bahrain National Theatre, the renowned Bahraini artist Ebrahim Habib serenaded audiences on Thursday evening, 9 January 2025. Accompanied by the Bahrain Music Band led by Maestro Zeyad Zaiman, his powerful performance marked the beginning of a new season for the Spring of Culture Festival.

The event was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information, His Excellency Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, alongside dignitaries, diplomats, and a large audience of lovers of authentic Bahraini music.
On this occasion, His Excellency Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed stated, “It is a pleasure for the Bahrain National Theatre to host the opening performances of the 19th Spring of Culture Festival. With its diverse events enriching our cultural movement during January and February, this annual festival is a testament to Bahrain's civilisational and cultural standing, regionally and globally.”

He added, “By hosting the distinguished Bahraini artist Ebrahim Habib at one of the kingdom's most prestigious cultural venues, we reaffirm our commitment to prioritising the pioneers of Bahrain’s music and arts movement. This concert reflects our continued belief in the role of Bahraini creatives in enhancing the cultural movement, and embodying the artistic identity that distinguishes the Kingdom of Bahrain.”

The evening featured an enchanting repertoire of authentic Bahraini music, performed by Ebrahim Habib, marking his return after a two-decade hiatus. Joining him were artists Mohamed Abdulrahim and Mohamed Rabee’a, who added their magical touch to the evening, delighting the audience with unforgettable moments.
The 19th Spring of Culture Festival continues until the end of February, offering a season rich in art and heritage. It features art exhibitions, performances, musical evenings, lectures, tours, cultural activities, workshops, and more.

The festival is a collaborative effort between the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre, Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research, in association with Albareh Art Space, Al Riwaq Art Space, Art Concept Gallery, Folk Art Space, La Fontaine Centre for Contemporary Art, and RAK Art Foundation.

This 19th edition is strategically sponsored by the Economic Development Board, with gold sponsorship from the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) and Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and silver sponsorship from Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) and National Bank of Bahrain (NBB). Additionally, several embassies in Bahrain contribute to the festival’s program, such as the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Cyprus, and the Philippines.
