The Cultural Hall hosted the Harmony of Strings concert on Thursday evening, 16 January 2025, presented by the English Chamber Orchestra. This event marked the launch of the Cultural Hall's evenings as part of the 19th Spring of Culture Festival.
Organised in collaboration with the British Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the concert was attended by His Excellency Mr. Alastair Long, Ambassador of the United Kingdom, alongside a large audience of festival enthusiasts.
The evening featured a captivating performance by the Orchestra’s Duo: Caroline Dale, the principal cellist, and renowned violinist John Mills. Together, they delivered a carefully curated selection of pieces, showcasing the exquisite harmony and interplay between the violin and cello.
The Cultural Hall continues its program with Rouh Al Sharq Choir from Egypt on 21 and 22 January, followed by the Breeze of Tarantella on 29 January, celebrating the music of Southern Italy. On 31 January, the Hall feature multiple performances of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, suitable for all ages.
In February, the Hall hosts the German piano concert Pianotainment on 5 February, the family theatre production Forest Dreams on 14 and 15 February, French mezzo-soprano Elinor Morel’s concert Love of Voice on 19 February, and a performance by Pakistani artist Arooj Aftab on 26 February.
The 19th Spring of Culture Festival continues until the end of February, offering a season rich in art and heritage. It features art exhibitions, performances, musical evenings, lectures, tours, cultural activities, workshops, and more.
The festival is a collaborative effort between the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre, Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research, in association with Albareh Art Space, Al Riwaq Art Space, Art Concept Gallery, Folk Art Space, La Fontaine Centre for Contemporary Art, and RAK Art Foundation.
This 19th edition is strategically sponsored by the Economic Development Board, with gold sponsorship from the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) and Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and silver sponsorship from Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) and National Bank of Bahrain (NBB). Additionally, several embassies in Bahrain contribute to the festival’s program, such as the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Cyprus, and the Philippines.
