Qalali Folk Band

The Qalali Folk Band boasts a rich history stretching back more than 100 years as they preserve and promote the traditional seafaring musical traditions of Bahrain, most notably Al-Fjiri genre of the Qalali village in Muharraq. Their tireless participation at local and international events roots firmly in the belief that art is a universal language, as well as showcasing the ancient history of civilizations inhabiting this part of the world.

 

 

Shabab Al Hidd Band

In the mid-nineties of the last century, the Shabab Al Hidd Band was founded, embarking its journey with the arts of Al-Ardhah, Al-Fjiri, Al-Sout, Daq Al-Hab, along with other traditional arts. The band gained fame on local and Gulf levels thanks to its distinguished participation in the celebrations of Eid Al-Fitr, Eid Al-Adha, national holidays, weddings, sea traditions and other occasions, which contribute to the transmission of experiences and authentic folk arts to future generations.

 

 

Dar Shabab Al Riffa Band

Founded in the 1970’s by Mohammed Oraik, the band performs ancient folkloric voice arts significant to Bahrain’s cultural heritage while executing the nuances that exist across the nation. They play an important role in preserving Bahrain’s intangible cultural heritage, ensuring its exposure to younger generations.

 

 

Dar Bin Harban Band

Founded in the mid-1940s in the old city of Muharraq by Mohammed bin Jassim bin Harban, Dar Bin Harban Band continues to be instrumental in reviving a myriad of local traditional arts, including Al-Ardhah, Al-La’abouni, Al-Khammari, and Al-Fjiri. In addition to their live performances in local national and social events in Bahrain and abroad, Dar Bin Harban Band has also recorded concerts that have been broadcast across the Arab Gulf states.
