The collection of Quranic manuscripts on display originates from various parts of the Islamic World and illustrates different calligraphic traditions. It reflects the splendour and diversity of Arabic Calligraphy and the skills of calligraphers. Some rare and valuable manuscripts and holy Qurans dated to the 13th and 14th centuries constitute the masterpieces of the display. Also on display are important documents of the reign of the Al-Khalifa ruling family that illustrate the progress and development of Bahrain in the 19th and 20th centuries.
