About the Artist
From an early age, Mohamed had a genuine interest in art, he developed his artistic skills by observing the works of Bahraini artists such as Abdulla Al Muharraqi who had a major contribution in developing Mohamed’s skills in sketching, drawing and painting. He was influenced by his traditional portraits which portray Bahrainis daily life. A self-taught artist, he was then trained by several Bahraini artists. Currently, he attends lectures and workshops by the international French artist and critique Inayat Attar continuing his lessons in the French city of Angers.
In his work, Mohamed tries to achieve a sense of expressionism and spirituality, this appears in his abstract work where he prefers to use bold visual strokes to express emotions, the variety use of compositions, lines, shapes, colors light or dark depends on the subject and general mood. He believes abstraction is an effective gateway to express sentiments in depth, offers flexibility and independence. Mohamed also enjoys painting landscapes, his love of nature and its beauty can be seen in his works as he is hugely influenced by impressionist masters and their use of light and vivid colors. Mohamed employs a bold color palette and an impressionistic style to give his oeuvres a presence that captures the essence of tranquility while unveiling a vivid interior world. The medium he mainly works with is acrylics, however he also works with oils, mixed media, charcoal and pencil. Mohamed who received his LLB in Law from Northumbria University, United Kingdom, hopes his paintings could give a feeling of “optimism and life” through his canvases bright, fresh colors and form.
About the Exhibition
The artist, Mohamed Taqi, draws inspiration from his creative work with spontaneity, and an inspired abstract language with a visionary approach of musical color and a philosophy of love. In his constant search for imagination, he explores the invisible to weave memories reshaping place and time through joyful poetry of color, and an experience of the mystery of the moment.
The art speaks of life purpose as a vortex for the soul and its senses, and illustrates the love the artist has for color, art, and composition as a whole. These color compositions combined with floating lines, create a story of events inviting viewers to create a series of imaginary scenes in their minds, personalizing the narrative for themselves through experiencing the aesthetic components of the artist’s work.
