A talk on the evolution of Bahraini cuisine between distinguished researcher and culinary expert Dr. Dalal Al Sherouqi and Bassam Al-Alawi, founder and executive chef at Darseen Café at the Bahrain National Museum.
Dr. Dalal Al Sherouqi is an anthropologist, author and a prominent researcher in the field of culture in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She has gained wide recognition the field of heritage and food culture, due to her skills and knowledge of Bahraini cuisine. She has published several books including the first book on Bahraini food culture “The Heritage Cuisine of Bahrain” in both Arabic and English. She actively lectures in Bahrain and around the Gulf on the subject of heritage.
Bassam Al Alawi experiments with different food styles and holds the firm belief that cultural divides can be traversed with a good plate of food.
